Have you tried time blocking before? Time blocking is scheduling everything (with a pencil so that if life throws you out of schedule you can easily move things around.) You are here because you wish to have free time in any given day. “You Time” means time away from all responsibilities, to do something productive that interests you or that you truly enjoy and look forward to during the week or even something that will improve your quality of life for the best.
What Free time is not?

Free time should not be spent cleaning your home and putting things in order since that is a responsibility.
Free time should not be spent sleeping or just doing nothing. Very often free time is spent taking naps since you are not sleeping the proper number of hours during the night which is from 7 to 9 hours to function at your best.
What activities should you complete during your free time?
Free time should be fun. You might say that you do not have enough time, but I guarantee you 100% that you have the time. The question is what truly do you enjoy? This list of things that you can do could be endless for this reason I will mention just a few:
Maybe you wish to take a dance class, even if you have two left feet and think you a terrible dancer or you are a great dancer. Do not be negative believe in yourself practice makes progress. We all need to have free time to express ourselves and perhaps that is through movement.
Not only you will make new friends, but you will also use your skills for a meaningful cause that you care about, that are in need. These new friends have something in common with you because you both care about the same cause. All while having fun and giving back to the community. Scrapbooking about your family, trips, or perhaps about holiday celebrations and get together. Scrapbooking not only lowers your stress levels but it’s a type of meditation by focusing on one task. It takes some thought-on design, color, and layout. When you are done with the album it is a treasure that you can share with others to see or simply for your family generations to keep.
Read a Printed Book
Just like our bodies need exercise otherwise, your body gets weaker and tends to feel even more tired when you do any simple physical work. Our brains need to be stimulated with a great story or some useful life motivational quotes. Even if you don’t know what to read simply read about something that calls your attention. I personally recommend you start with the most important book in the whole world yet the one less read that has all the answers to your needs the King James Bible version the original first book translated in the English language. Paint or Draw
Have you ever wanted to learn to draw? It is never too late we all start somewhere and as time goes by you will grow and see the results of the time you spent practicing. Think about a 4-year-old who is so proud of what he or she drew or painted! You will never see that child doubting their abilities or fearing what others might say. Then I am encouraging you to do what makes you smile and forget about people’s judgment.
Despite the current season or your body image getting fit can become something you love to do. You will be able to sleep better at night as you will have more energy during the day with the release of the feel-good chemicals in your brain better-called endorphins. Boost your immune system and avoid getting sick every time the season changes. Get stronger, and even prevent various illnesses. Prevent weight gain and feel great with high self-esteem while living longer and healthier. How do you find time to do something you truly enjoy?
While work and chores never end you deserve to do something you are passionate about that brings joy, hope, and happiness into your life. For some people it’s easy, they already know what they want to do, only if they had the extra free time (which they do have). For other people, it can be challenging to figure out what they truly love to do (simply because of your current circumstance). In order to do what you truly enjoy you must take action, and today is the day to not only discover it but implement it into an action plan by following these simple steps:
Step 1 Reviewing Time Blocking
Very important while completing this step keep these things in mind:
- Forget about the money that any of the things you will write require.
- Do not compare your life with others. (you are just where you need to be)
- Do not fear it is just a list
- Have faith even when it feels dark there is always light through the path
- Do know that not everyone will get you (some people are not qualified to give advice)
Go right now and grab a blank sheet of paper and a pen or pencil. On that sheet of paper draw a line in the middle horizontally and vertically then you should have 4 equal boxes. On each box write these as titles:
- Things that you enjoyed as a child/adult
- Things you will like to improve
- Places you would like to visit
- Things you wish to learn
Did you complete the most important step? Yes! Great job I am sure it took a lot of courage and thinking to simply complete step one. I want to praise you for your accomplishment because you are on the right path. When you are so busy with your daily responsibilities there is a tendency to forget about you. You are a very important person and you can do anything as long as you believe and have faith.
Step 2 Actual Time Blocking
Prepare a one-week (representative) schedule in which you can show both a daily and a weekly perspective of your activities (including any classes you take, time of study, work, exercise, procrastination, eating, napping, scrolling in any social media on your smartphone, etc) Make sure you are very specific and truthful when completing both steps the only thing you are doing is writing nothing else.
These two steps are essential and must be completed I have created simple templates that you can just fill in and complete through the week. Do not fill them in one evening this is meant to be filled as accurate as possible. Get them here now:

Step 3 Evaluating Your Free Time Blocking

It is important to accept your current situation is not the same as others and therefore accepting anything negative and positive you may find through writing everything you do for one week is important.
At the end of the week tally the hours into the categories below:
- Personal Business
- Commuting (traveling)
- Family time (Childcare)
- Communication (phone, computer)
- Studying (learning something new)
- Spiritual Life
What is the total hours of all the categories above? If more than 168 (the number of hours in a week) you need to recalculate them appropriately so that the total hours equal 168.
